The Well Tower is a small building located on the south side of the Tower of London. From its location we have a great view of the tower bridge.
Tower of the well
It is a rectangular tower, with an excresctible square to the south. It is made of stones with reinforced corners, and has a door on the first floor, which formerly, on a walkway passing over an old rampart, gave the one who designed the inner courtyard. The roof of the well tower is crenellated, to protect the archers. It also has some loopholes.
This tower was called because it was near the well, an essential element in a fortress capable of supporting sieges.
