Brick tower

The Brick Tower is part of the North Tower series of the first tower of the Tower of London, along which there is a circular walkway. This is a fairly simple tower.

The Brick Tower is on the north side. It is the second from the north-east corner of the Tower of London. It is made of roughly squared stones, joined together with the mortar. Its plane is D-shaped, that is to say that side fortress, the wall is flat whereas outside, it is circular, a shape that favors the position of the archers. The top of the tower is crenellated, an important protection in the medieval fortifications, and this tower is equipped with small windows. The walkway passes through the tower via narrow gates.

There is nothing special to say about this quite classic tower.
