The Philippines seems far removed from the idea of the Statue of Liberty. Geographically far removed from the United States, religiously opposed, these two peoples were not destined to join each other thanks to this statue. And yet, there is at least one copy of the statue in the Philippines.

That's a pretty small Statue of Liberty in the Philippines. This is a memorial has been erected by the American community on the site of a former US military base. This base was called "Camp John Hay" in Baguio City.
